About Dull Nickel
Dull nickel was the first form of nickel to be electrodeposited. It has mainly been replaced by bright nickel.
It is the original nickel finish for pre 1930 vehicles, although this was usually polished to give the lustrous finish of polished dull nickel.
Dull nickel is most commonly used for vintage parts and engine parts. Dull nickel suffers from finger marks, so it is common to spray items with a light oil to prevent this.
